From Halifax take Hwy 102 and follow the signs for the airport.
From Halifax Airport, leave the airport and take the exit that says “Truro or Cape Breton” - don’t take the exit to Halifax. From New Brunswick just follow the signs to Cape Breton or Truro.
Go past the towns of Truro, Pictou and New Glasgow and follow the directions to Exit 27 (approximately 10 minutes from New Glasgow). You will turn left on Exit 27 to Route 245 at Merigomish which takes you on to the Sunrise Trail. Drive along Route 245 for approximately 16 kilometres until you come to Lower Barney’s River. You will notice a Kwik-Way convenience store/gas station on the right side of the road. Continue on past the the Kwik Way four kilometers past Dana’s Lane and Thompson’s Lane; the next lane on your left is called “Distraction Lane.” The civic sign is presently missing, but there is a hand-made wooden sign attached to a tree. (If you come to Murdock’s Lane, you have driven too far.) Turn left on Distraction Lane and continue on down the unpaved road towards the ocean until you come to a “T” in the road. Turn right at Tranquility Lane. You will drive past a little beige cottage on the left; right next door is our See by Sea Cottage – 31 Tranquility Lane. Turn left just past our little red barn on the left. It is a grey custom design house with white trim.
